I sort of thought this clown had died. Or at least had retreated to a compound where can do his durr durr huntin' in peace. But no..... Newsone : Nugent appeared at a show in Dubuque, Iowa, and told the crowd, “ There’s a lot of white people in this crowd — I like that! (Dubuque) is a white town. ” The Telegraph Herald added that “Nugent also pointed out at least one audience member and questioned his race.” The Iowa-based newspaper also slammed Nugent’s remarks in an editorial, ...

Or something : The Federal Bureau of Investigation has demanded that Wikipedia stop using the FBI seal in articles on the online encyclopedia, or face possible legal action. According to a letter dated July 28, FBI lawyer David C. Larson said the site is using the seal without permission from the director of the agency, as required by law. Larson sent the letter to the Wikimedia Foundation, which owns the site. Apparently the FBI feels that the presence of the ...

What a great day to be an American . Yeah, the crazy types will take it to the SCOTUS, but let's be realistic: the 'battle' has been over for years. The moment the issue was taken seriously enough generate opposition----it was over. Funny thing about wingnutistan: anytime there's a legal ruling that doesn't go in the favor of the mouthbreathing masses, they're out complaining about 'activist judges'. LGF : LGF reader Gus 802 points out that Judge Walker was originally n...

I really like this article at the NYT, which addresses what I think addresses the nut of the GM issue : It doesn't hit the price point For starters, G.M.’s vision turned into a car that costs $41,000 before relevant tax breaks ... but after billions of dollars of government loans and grants for the Volt’s development and production. Instead of following Toyota’s model, G.M. decided to make the Volt more affordable by offering a $350-a-month lease over 36 months. ...

Phyllis Schlafly and Carey Roberts are a match made in heaven. 1. Both are old. Like ancient. 2. Both hate women, especially Uppity Feminist Bitches (TM). 3. Both shit themselves. 4. Both only do missionary because Jesus would be very unhappy with any more exotic bedroom behaviors. While stumping for a candidate in Michigan named 'Rocky', Phyllis had this to say : “One of the things Obama’s been doing is deliberately trying to increase the percentage of our population ...

That Slate shouldn't try to make a chart . What a mess. So apparently: -Light green represents enemies wounded because that's kinda good, right? -Green represents enemies killed because that's good. YAY!!!! -Light red is civilians wounded because that's kinda bad -Red shows civilians killed because that's really bad! Aha! Brilliant! Style points too, with showing the subtle and meaningful nuance between enemies wounded and civilians killed using a childish...

I'm really not sure how I missed this . It's a really well argued piece - from DailyKOS of all places - in support of actual dyed in the wool liberal types supporting gun ownership. Liberals can quote legal precedent, news reports, and exhaustive studies. They can talk about the intentions of the Founders. They can argue at length against the tyranny of the government. And they will, almost without exception, conclude the necessity of respecting, and not restricting, civil liberties....

Linky . Or uhhh....wait....errr Black People Hate Fox News. The New York Times' Brian Stelter tweeted that, according to Nielsen Media Research, Fox News has averaged just 29,000 black viewers in primetime so far this television season (9/09-7/10). That represents just 1.38% of its 2.102 million total viewer audience. CNN and MSNBC, meanwhile, both have far more black viewers, both in absolute terms and as a proportion of their overall audiences. It's not rea...

I didn't bother reading the comments, but I'm sure they're not pretty. Redstate : Mark Williams is a complete moron for writing that piece when and how he wrote it. It surpasses the level of stupid often relegated to Ron Paul. He gave the NAACP exactly what they wanted. He allowed himself to become distracted and lashed out in emotional response. Had Mr. Williams showed a bit of patience, he could have been writing today about real racism in the NAACP courtesy of Andrew Brei...

Linky here : The first of the fundamental objections bristled at the phrase "culturally modern." Was this code for jettisoning social conservatives from the Republican party? Two answers. First, "culturally modern" refers to a lot more than just the abortion/stem cells/same-sex marriage cluster of issues. A culturally modern party is one comfortable with science and technology, with women's equality, and with a globalized economy. It'...

Still more bwa ha ha ha. This NAACP thing is the gift that's just going to keep on giving : Vice President Biden said Sunday that neither he nor the president thinks the Tea Party is a "racist organization," after the NAACP voted Tuesday to condemn the "racist elements" in the conservative activist movement. Biden, speaking on ABC's "This Week," said both members and those on the "periphery" of the movement have expressed "racist...

BWAHAHHAHHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHA Oh god : After screaming all week that there is absolutely no racism in Tea Party groups, today the “National Tea Party Federation” expelled Mark Williams and his “Tea Party Express” for … something. Couldn’t be racism, there is none in the Tea Party. You might remember Mark Williams as the medium sized fish who almost got away before totally going Chernobyl with the White Guy Argument (TM) blogpost . The presser from the Natio...
