BWAHAHHAHHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHA

Oh god:

After screaming all week that there is absolutely no racism in Tea Party groups, today the “National Tea Party Federation” expelled Mark Williams and his “Tea Party Express” for … something. Couldn’t be racism, there is none in the Tea Party.

You might remember Mark Williams as the medium sized fish who almost got away before totally going Chernobyl with the White Guy Argument (TM) blogpost. The presser from the National Tea Party Federation is a little strange:

Last night, the members of the National Tea Party Federation participating in an "All Hands" conference call unanimously decided the following:

The membership of the National Tea Party Federation has this evening suspended and will immediately expel Tea Party Express from any further association with the Federation should they fail to publicly rebuke Mark Williams and remove him from their ranks by 3 pm eastern time Saturday July 17.

The rebuke must take the following form:

1. Mark Williams must be officially removed from the ranks of the Tea Party Express.

2. Notice of Mark Williams' removal must be placed prominently on the official Tea Party Express website.

3. Tea Party Express must issue a press release articulating points 1 and 2 above.

No reason given. Just that the Tea Party Express is PNG until Mark Williams is gone.

CNN is writing this up as "Mark Williams swallows own head with large mouth", but I'm not really sold on it:

  • In my opinion, Williams' blog post was arguably racist. On a scale of 10, I mark it at like a 4. On the ignorance scale, it's at like a 9.8. No doubt. It's just stuff you expect from ignorant people.
  • Despite the fact that Williams' post was really not poignant at all and really just amounted to a whole lot of stupid; I believe that most of the.....ahem....ehhhh...hahah....'tea party americans', probably found themselves nodding their head in agreement with William's sentiment. Mostly because, as we all know, those people don't like none of that there political correctness and none of that there hyphenated american stuff. You know.
  • His comments on CNN were just as ignorant.
  • NTPF didn't have to do this. Their own people were largely unphased by his statements and everybody else just sort of went along with him being just another assclown in the Tea Party Assclown Car.
  • Even if they did feel like they had to do this, they didn't have to do it with the very public edge. In fact, there's a thousand good reasons to not do this out in the open.

So, I'm left with 2 possibilities. Either the Tea Party types are even more brain dead than previously thought and they really believe that by bouncing Williams the whole controversy goes away. The other is a bit more speculative:

Williams didn't come out of thin air. Before he was a fringe lunatic with the tea party, he was probably a fringe lunatic somewhere else. Perhaps somebody did a little research to find out what other crazy things Mr. Williams may have said over the years....

Now when will NAACP clean their own house? Not likely.
