Pretty funny.

"AFTER THE 2006 MIDTERM ELECTIONS, RAHM EMANUEL JUMPED ON A TABLE AND SAID THE REPUBLICAN PARTY "CAN GO F*** THEMSELVES"

RAHM EMANUEL SENT A ROTTING FISH TO A POLLSTER HE DIDN'T LIKE ยป

All have references. Of course, Rahm has a long way to go before he can achieve the bad ass level of the previous CoS.

How so?

Did you check the video?

If you don't recall, Karl Rove was the evil genius.   Everything was done by Karl Rove.  Everything.  It was the source of the term "Rovian Conspiracy".

Rahm is sort of starting to get the same rep.  That and both Rahm and Rove have a particular Donald Segretti streat doesn't hurt the comparison either.

WHEN DONORS OFFER RAHM EMANUEL $5,000 CHECKS, HE HANGS THE FUCK UP ON THEM

This fact, like all Rahm Emanuel Facts, is 100% true! According to The New York Times:

The best Rahm Emanuel story is [...] not about the time - the many times - that he hung up on political contributors in a Chicago mayor's race, saying he was embarrassed to accept their $5,000 checks because they were $25,000 kind of guys.

lulz.

Ah, I see.  Not factual, just allegations.  Ok, I understand now.  And yes I kind of agree.  The evilness of the person is directly proportional to their effectiveness.

You have to vilify that which you cannot fight in the arena of ideas.

See?  Look.  Rove is still doing shit TODAY.  Do you see how evil this guy is?  Rove was violating that law YEARS ago.  He's so evil.

Now, excuse me, I have to go do the Karl Rove dance with my blackberry.

The one thing I love more than exposing the naked truth is seeing it revealed with naked sarcasm!

You are a master of it.

Thanks.

It's a smug lack of respect for political hysteria of all flavors.  Rahm Emanuel is to the right what Karl Rove is to the left.  A mysterious boogey man of political intrigue.

In the Bush era, the dems were getting they're asses kicked.  I mean, it was brutal.  I think there was a good 2 or 3 year stretch in there where just every week the dems were looking like total dopes in the face of the supposedly stupid GWB.  They couldn't figure it out.  The media was largely spitting ink their way, the 'grass roots' movement of Cindy Sheehand and the Gold Start Families For Peacyness was making a good showing, while the left leaning blogosphere echo chamber belied the fact that there were still 51% of Americans who believe that the right guy for the job was there.

They couldn't figure it out . So out come the conspiracy nuts with stories of elite rich kid frats at Yale, Haliburton/blackwater/BIG OIL, and----Karl Rove.  Karl Rove became this political Kaizer Soze, An alternate universe of a mastermind where the two ideas of 1.  Bush is stupid and 2. We're still getting our asses kicked  - could both peacefully co-exist.  It helped make the world make sense for these ass clowns who were largely too hyped up on their own koolaid to realize that Bush was indeed not totally brain dead and that the problem really had nothing to do with evil manipulation:

It had to do with the fact that the dems were a total disaster.

Now on the right, we're starting to see the same things happening.  GOP has been getting their asses kicked to the point where they're actually digging up the Gipper's body and helping him spin.  The Obama as a 'stupid head" meme hasn't started yet, but the Rahm as some sort of Bismarkian manipulator of politics meme has.

His colorful character will only make it more entertaining for people like me.

I can see it happening, and it just makes me shake my head in wonderment.  I guess people just refuse to learn, and so they repeat the mistakes of the past.
